BEAUTY // WHAT I AM LOVING RIGHT NOW

August is a month of skincare for me. Do I need to jump? Or do I need to dance? No? But that's how I felt every time and I don't think that kind of excitement will die anytime soon. I try to add and replenish bottles that i tried and love, and some new brands that I want to explore more, while others have my hearts beats fast just thinking to put on as an added new regimen. Beauty addict mamas, do you feel that way too?

I think when you hit age 35 and up it's a brand new way to explore new line to support new skincare concern. Though anti aging serums and creams are there which you already have personally, I consider wanting to have at least one or two new items that target concerns like lifting, facial contour, uneven skin tone, and radiance since some of these factors are diminish due to age and some are not covered by my current skincare line. Though healthy diet and exercise affect to the outcome of having good skin. I could probably say that this is the stage were high maintenance in the world of beauty and skincare enters. A must say that anybody who doesn't want to show her real age will probably join the club.🙋🏻🙈

I tried using a whole line of skincare brand in my early 30's from cleanser down to sunblock and fair to say that the  result doesn't disappoint. The pros is that you can clearly see the ultimate result while the cons is you can easily point out if the product is not for you due to skin sensitivity, blemishes that may occur. But to say, there's so many items in the market that promise the things that you wanted so it goes that some retain in my vanity table while others are being replace by new skincare brands. For now I'm not yet into a point of using array of skincare brand from different line but I'm into a point of becoming overboard to brands that I really like and love.

This month is all about my recent favorites. Thankful that I did not have the chance to waste money on products that does not have good effect on me or irritate my skin while testing. The Ordinary Glycolic Toning Solution and Buffet Peptide serum which I reviewed here is a good skincare product that I have tried with and have good results on me as day goes by of using it. Mario Badescu Collagen is a good and budget friendly moisturiser that I'm currently using and repurchase and on my second bottle. Next is Sulwhasoo ahh this brand I really want to try a year I think since I learn about this brand. Elated that I got the chance to have one to try, and with all the little samples included with it from facial foam to emulsion. As a first time user of this korean luxury brand by Amore Pacific, I was surprise by the luxe packaging and the scent of the cleansing oil the moment I open and use it. Feels like you are on a spa with the relaxing smell and atmosphere,  a good start for a long good night sleep. I just wish I get the combo instead together with the facial foam. I have picked the cleansing oil since it's not a secret to some that I am fond of using make up nowadays and an avid fan of oil as a make up remover. I just thought now is the time to try something new and after trying out cleansing oil, it only proves one thing that cleansing oil will not be the last item I will get from them. A very satisfied with my usage. Does any of you using their brand? What kind? How is your experience using it so far ? Last but not the least from this month is the Shea body butter from the body shop which I got as a gift that was given to me by my daughter.  A long time favorite of mine since early days that I became a beauty enthusiast. I love how hydrating their body butter is and learn to layer it too on top of the hand cream that I'm currently using. It's one of my go to brand when I needed something for my body, from shower gel, soap, body mist and body butter. And now a daughter of mine is a certified user of this brand too, maybe by her mom influence.

Skincare is my first love on top of make up. It is something that makes me happy and opening a new bottle makes me smile. If I will be given a chance to have a shopping spree I know in my heart, without a doubt, I will be right in front of all the beauty counters that I love or clicking at my favorite online store, who doesn't, right? Love it! How about you, what's the little things that brought you smile?

A heads up to all Sulwhasoo lovers out there! Get two deluxe samples with any online purchase and find their Labor Day Special offer here.

Happy weekend to all.

LIFE // DARLING ESCAPES

Long weekend and a succeeding day class suspension due bad weather is enough for this mama to recharge. Insert the day included is the celebration of my birthday, which up to now I am giddy about thinking of that special day. Does anyone of you feels the same? I come to think of it that aging did not affect how excited a person is to welcome her / his birthday each year. Or maybe, it's just me?🙊

The day flew by as a simple celebration, eating at family's favorite burger house. Exploring one shopping mall that I did not have the chance to visit yet and go straight to the beauty and home shops  to see all eye candy items that is enough to make me happy. I took the chance to photo shoot in the area which I find as a good location and only happens once in a while if you notice so. Glad to say that the first time visit gave a happy memories to us as a family or to me the least to say. Truly a fresh new environment makes a difference. After that, we did some restaurant hopping and take out some food to continue the celebration at home. What makes it more special is that I have my whole crew celebrating with me that day. Though I will cry if this might happen but I know there will come a time that one day we can not be complete to celebrate anymore, for situational reasons. So now, I am grateful for another year of life having them around and I love soaking up to that feeling of joy.

As an addition I appreciate the greetings I gather during that day that makes me feel emotional, young and well loved. Truly, God makes the day wonderful and it's only on us how we can appreciate it.

Happy happy birthday to all who's celebrating this month! May good health and happiness be with us always.🤗

Hugs,
Angie

BEAUTY // THE ORDINARY GLYCOLIC 7% TONING SOLUTION AND BUFFET PEPTIDE SERUM REVIEW

When I hit 40 it makes me more keen about skincare and it's array of brands. Are you? Maintenance is becoming more and more luxury to think and consider and I can't even remember when is the last time I ever bought a bag or shop for a wardrobe than I often do with skincare and cosmetics nowadays.

To some who personally know me, and for a long time reader might know that I don't easily try products that I don't often use or don't believe in, just for the sake of trying. I'm hesitant to do that so whenever I use skincare it only means that they get my full trust and really want to try the product. As always, I have my favorites that I repurchase over the years and some I tried and love, but breaks my heart that it gives me a hard time to repurchase. But a tested product like those can't be forgotten and when opportunity comes, I will do the click with all of my fingers. Ha!

Did you ever experience curiosity over the product and did not even hesitate to purchase and try? Well, I did! And that happens to me with the new brand  THE ORDINARY. At first  I'm hooked with the vintage drug store like packaging. Next is the pricing. Just think of it, how come the products can afford to deal with low price and can do good for your skin? For the suggested retail price that cut almost half to three-fourth percent of the good skincare brand in the market, I'm curious to know what this brand can offer. Then I checked all the items and found out so many things that's in my bucket list. And to top it all, for a lady who manage to use high and low brands to suit her budget, I love to try their product and if the result is satisfying, I can add it to the rotation of my skincare routine. I do a rotation once in a while.

So my concern is about firming and lifting so the Buffet Peptide Serum is my choice and my toner is running low that time so instead of thinking of getting the vitamin C for prevention of further pigmentation and to helps brighten the skin, I skip it first and get the Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution. I'm thinking of getting the Vitamin C next if saw improvements AFTER using these two. So with no hesitation, I ordered.

Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution - It is often use to treat skin discoloration, signs of aging like fine lines and wrinkles. If you also suffered from dull skin glycolic is a good addition to the skincare regimen. I often use to ask the aesthetician about this when I undergo a once in a while glycolic facial peel so the moment I saw the toner version I become interested. I only use it at night as prescribed with 2-3 drops on cotton balls and wipe it all over my face in upward motion including neck and decollete, skipping the eye contour area. In the morning as I wake up I wash my face and go with my morning routine to avoid any skin pigmentation since glycolic has an alpha hydroxy acid AHA that is sensitive to sun exposure. To avoid sun damage be sure to top sunblock after your morning face routine.

As three days short of time I notice changes in my skin tone and to say this is the first time I ever use a toner that gives such result. It did brighten and even out my skin tone as days goes by, but the color of my skin becomes a pale yellow than the usual that I need to check my face near the mirror to get a closer look. Some of greenish veins also appear after wiping it on but easily disappear as I finish my skincare steps. I really don't know what is the theory behind it, if it really makes your undertone to appear more. I am an Asian with yellow undertone. Does any of you uses Glycolic toner and have the same observation? Does it also makes your undertone to appear? Or did you notice you become pale after applying too? Will love to know your experience. Aside from that luckily, I did not have any break outs while using the product with my combination skin. I did notice a slight peeling on my chin and jaw too for a couple of days but I know it's normal since glycolic helps renew the skin and it's not noticeable at all. It also hydrates and does not make my face to feel tight or dry. It's unscented too a plus to those who are sensitive to intense fragrance.

Buffet Multi Technology Peptide Serum - is a water base solution. It is advice to apply before moisturizer in the morning and at night as prescribed. According to the description, it's an all in one anti aging remedy that is why it's called Buffet. For days but not exceeding a week I follow the instruction and saw maximum result. It does gives your face a firming effect but find the serum too strong for  me that gives a tight feeling for my days of continued use. But I continue the application still since I wanted to see how it goes within weeks of application. So I adjust the usage from twice to once a day with alternate use in the morning or in the evening. However, I find it too oily to use in the morning underneath make up and giving me a greasy look feeling that's why I opted to use it only at night. Maybe living in a hot humid climate cause it on me. But whenever the weather is bearable I apply the serum in the morning to follow daily use and for optimum result.

It's been three weeks now and all I can say is I am pleased with the result on me. It firms hydrates, tightens and smoothen the skin  and most of all I saw a big improvement on my face contour. I use one-fourth solution in the droplet, if you find it helpful. You can adjust the consumption base on your current skincare concern as per my personal experience, to see the result that you wanted.  This is definitely a serum to use if you are after lifting and hydrating effect. Buffet  Peptide Serum without a doubt will be replenish in my beauty arsenal. A must have!

Impress with the products that doesn't cost a fortune but works! I bought mine here

WINDOW OF HAPPINESS BLOG IS LIVE!

When you enjoy what you are doing and happens to be your job, this can't be called a job at all. It is a calling, a lifestyle, a reward, a greatest blessing from above. - Angie

You all! This is my good news and I can't contain my excitement while on the process, and finally, it's here! I heard and read it to so many and, it's true.  However the feeling is ecstatic when you are the one on that shoes. Having a personal home address is different, it's like, this is it! You are here, for good. Seriously.

I've been writing on and off since 2010 in my spare time, as an an outlet, a journal. But one thing is for sure back then that I find time to write because I have this perspective, a different kind, a more positive outlook in life. And that is why as an inspiration, I named it after my youngest Iya, my angel and inspiration and one of the reason why Window of Happiness was born then.

And now, Window of Happiness Blog is launch! I'm so happy that the name is still available in the market. Looks like it has a blessing from up above. And just like how my blog started, the concept is all about Lifestyle, Beauty, Motherhood, and a bit of Travel in between. As you can see, the design is almost the same and the alteration will be the next. Just like having a home, to put everything in your personal touch make a big difference, right? So all of that I'm looking forward to happen here sometime soon. For the meantime, I'm so happy that this home I have for years has it's own address now, and finally mine. And that makes me a happy mama and one happy person, too. I also would like to say that you may find links and banners along side the post. I know for some, you don't bother, and to some find it annoying. But the text links and banners helps this site to keep up and a portion of earnings can help my family. And that happens, right? That even a stay at home mom can find ways and means to help her family. To keep up with the rising of family financial issue and I would love to help my husband with that and, to sustain some of my beauty  "maintenance" too.😉😂

For all who's been my friends and visitors here since the very beginning, thank you from the bottom of my heart for sticking with me. Thank you! I hope I able to give each one of you a good perspective about lifestyle and motherhood, the way how this blog is all about and how it all started. And please, kindly help yourself to bookmark the new address too! Ha ha ha. For the new visitors, welcome and thank you for visiting. I hope you find a home, a friend, and some sort of answer to your longing questions while you are here. And that I can able to extend my positive energy at your end. We all need  that in our life, isn't it?

I also would like to take the chance to credit son1 for being a big part of my blog creation from the start. For being my assistant in all technical issues since her mom was born in a stone age era with lack of knowledge in computer.😂 Thank you son and I love you! Cheers to both of us!🍷🍾

With so much love,

TRAVEL // PLACES TO VISIT

What is done, can't be undone

Hello, it's now August! One of my favorite month and will add a year older before the month ends. I'm not really conscious about the figure it's just a number, and as long as I can do something about the law of gravity, I am okay.😉 Kidding aside, I am grateful everyday, it's not easy as it goes but there's so much to be thankful for rather than to dwell, I tell that to myself. Each day is a blessing and if you find it hard today, there's someone who's making a harder life rather than you do, in that way you will know that you are blessed.

Long time reader probably know that as much as we can, my family and I find ways to travel, locally. It's a breath of fresh air to go some place that you see for the first time or a favorite. It's always good for one soul and turns out to a good boost and experience to all. And, if times comes we could travel international, London, Paris, Spain, Morocco, New York, Japan, Hongkong  and China would be in our bucket list.

But...

What if you want it differently? That you want to travel alone. Do you think of that part? Or have you travel alone before? Not for anything easy go lucky stuff but in helping to find yourself. This thing I want to do for a long time, but I just can't. There's so many randoms thoughts about the reason why, but what I only know for now is that if I able to do it I might be more at peace, that I could give more. Sometimes being an individual can be draining, right? I think in most part, it's all about dealing with yourself because you can't pour a glass of water in an empty pot, and this is true. Do you think so too?

Hope to find a way to go somewhere alone, just to think and reflect to the deep of my soul. This longing I need to work out. Just to breath, to absorb more all the positive energy and to release all the tension. To let myself soak. To love and to give more love. And to help find a portion of myself,  my life.

And that all you can't do for certain time, without thinking of your needed to do chores that you  will leave for a period of time. And of course, your family.

I might say that it's not healthy to just let life goes on without putting an end to one story or say, chapter. All this I want to do for my family because I want to give all my best as a mom, a wife , and as a person.

To begin with I would like to note that I have high respect with my parents and have good relationship with them. However dealing with all the emotions when you came from a broken family without any explanation in return is not good for the children, like me, before. Back then all you do is to self analyze, to help understand the situation, to accept the fact that it happens and they don't owe you any explanation. It's a life you needed to know and understand and you have no choice.  And when the time comes I started my own life, I just wish somebody could advice me or I able to learn before hand that to go with another chapter, you should deal first whatever is left unresolved because in some point, your future decisions, though  unaware, is still base on what you left behind.

Now is the rise of the millennials, I just hope that it will come as an eye opener to all the young ones that a child needed to understand. It's not that every family should be together if it aren't working out and I respect that. But children is a  part of the family and they needed to know what is happening. They can understand, and in time they can accept, they can and will heal and they can start all over their life in full, with extended family with them or none at all. I hope this will raise as a good reminder to all parents, young ones and even the mature ones because "what is done can't be undone". And I respect parents who help explain their children what is the situation they are into because with that they let the child raise awareness on what is really happening with their surroundings, with their family. A salute to all of you.

All of this going through emotions I just needed to release, maybe because it's my birth month, that's why, and all through the years unaware, I still find myself crying, being sentimental, And through that you know within yourself that there's needed to be fix, that there's still hanging inside of you.

To my husband, thank you very much for all the hard laughs and the years that we've been together through the good times and bad, it makes our foundation strengthen. And to my children, my world, mama just want to have the best for you,  I love you all.

May you family be guided always, friends. God bless.

Till then,
Angie
